My photography seeks to illustrate the poetry in natural and built environments. Dependent on close observation, it often gives voice to infrastructure from the manifestations of chemical reactions and molecular structures of nature to the dynamics of macroecology, architecture, and culture. It is often dependent on taking time to investigate and contemplate details, the quiet moments of being. It is through these close and meditative practices that we can learn about the consciousness and voice of the world, its environments, and its inhabitants.

My images are not often straightforward depictions of a subject, but rather instances of insight and moments of dialogue. I often use abstraction to represent the possibilities and questions, not clarity and answers.

It is hoped that the arc of my photography acts to inspire thought - artistic, scientific, and personal - uncovering new ideas, possibilities, and ways of being with the natural and constructed worlds - and ourselves.
